FRANCISTOWN MARATHON SPORTS EVENTS

FRANCISTOWN MARATHON SPORTS EVENTS

INTRODUCTION
Superior events like marathon are used to get the public together, endorse the destination and to inspire the fitness (Bowdin, et al 2012). Francistown marathon was hosted by Be-Mobile in collaboration with the Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL). Basically this was the first sport event to be held in the town of Francistown and their target is to facilitate it annual as recognized since he assumed that the occasion delivered professional chances for partakers and it was able to market the town to be identified globally as there was a enormous crowd of individuals coming to view the occasion. They are different aspect that need to be considered in this event but this review will highlight the impact of volunteers in event.
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers deliver more influences that empower an association to do chores and actions that might not otherwise get done (Siskel & Gene, 2005). however Bowdin, et al (2012) state that with suitable incentive , funded workers and volunteers can lack interest for attaining the occasion’s corporate aims and providing excellence service. In this marathon events there were many volunteers and they were divided into different sections and they did very well as they manage to assist participant with showing them the direction besides during the shutdown of the event they manage to pick up litters as it was expected.

AWARD CEREMONY

AWARD CEREMONY

Adansonia Hotel, hosted the award ceremony for Botswana Unified Revenue Services (BURS) on the 01-November 2014. Bowdin et.al (2012) state that an award is something given to a person, a group of people, or an organization to recognize their excellence in a certain field; a certificate of excellence. Awards are often signified by trophies, titles, certificates, commemorative plaques, medals, badges, pins, or ribbons. Usually BURS unify and design the award ceremony for their workers yearly, as a way of appreciating their input towards achieving the business mandates. Basically the reflector will concentrate only in one aspect which is incentive towards employees.
MOTIVATION

Herzberg (2003) state that workers motivation is the main aspect in the achievement or failure of a business. Lacking motivated personnel, efficiency, confidence, revenues, products and service delivered suffers. To remain competitive business should capitalize in effective plans to inspire workers. Organizing this kind of event it shows that BURS recognizes and appreciate the impact of employees in their organizations because employees were given certificate of best employee of the year and also cheques for bonus. The perception that I got in that events it shows that there is a good relationship between managers and their subordinates and truly this make an organization to be more competitive in the market.

CULTURAL DAY

CULTURAL DAY
Jenkins & Henry (2006) state that Culture is the appearances and awareness of a specific crowd of individuals, cleared through the whole thing from linguistic, faith, food, common ways, melodies  and arts. The cultural festival was held at Gumare village on the 20 October 2014, the event was meant to diversify culture for the helping the society to recognize it and learning not to fear it. In this events they are several factors that where considered like the issue of food cuisine, entertainment and attire but this evaluation will emphases much on the food cuisine and entertainment.
  FOOD CUISINE
Laudan & Rachel (2013) in their research mentioned that several cultures eat their own preferred food,  a detailed set of cooking traditions using various spices or a combination of flavors unique to that culture, which evolves over time. Other differences include preferences (hot or cold, spicy, etc.) and practices, many cultures have diversified their foods by means of preparation, cooking methods, and manufacturing (Smith & Andrew F, 2004). During culture day different group of people the likes of Bayei, Herero, Hambukusho, Kgalagadi and all the like manage to showcase their cooked and uncooked food cuisine e.g. the Herero tribe were showcasing their valuable soft porridge called Ngondivi and also explaining the receipt of doing that particular meal.
ENTERTAINMENT
According to Sayre, Shay, King &Cynthia (2010) entertainment is a way of activity that grips the attention and interest of the viewers, or provides desire and enjoyment. Sayre, Shay, King &Cynthia (2010) explain further more by saying that Storytelling, melody, drama, dance, and various types of presentation occur in every cultures, were supported in royal courts, settled into modern methods and over time became accessible to every countries. Well in entertainment tribes were executing their different talents somewhere singing, dancing and drama but at some point I have released that culture is dynamic in the sense that I have experience some changes in this cultural event some particular ethnic group.

BRAAI FESTIVAL

BRAAI FESTIVAL
The braai festival was held at Barbora Bistro Cafeteria, the occasion was meant to mark the 5th centenary ceremony of the corporate. The occasion called upon quite a lot of chefs to showcase their braai skills and performances. Honestly the occasion appealed great to number of individuals who shows up at the event. This review emphases much on the layout and adequate space for the event.

SPACE AND LAYOUT
Robertson, Noel (1992) and Brandt, Rasmus, Iddeng & Jon (2012) in their research mentioned that the layout and space plays a crucial role the business performance together in terms of capitalize on the efficiency of the manufacturing procedure plus attaining the necessities of workers. The elementary aim of layout is to make sure there is an adequate movement of labor, material, in the space in which a company's actions take place (Pickard-Cambridge & Sir Arthur, 1953). The main to good occasions (Picard, David, Robinson & Mike, 2006) layout and space is the combination of the desires of public (personnel and customers), resources (raw, finishes, and in process), and machinery in such a way that they make a sole, well-functioning structure. At the braai festival the layout of equipment and spacing for that particular events was adequate and extraordinary and due to the open space that Barbora Bistro restaurant have, chefs manage to showcase their dishes without the distraction. Secondly clients were able to move from one stall to another in an adequate space.

WINE TASTING

If you are carefully to whatever you are tasting, you will improve an expressions of defining what you like and what you don’t like. Ordering wine from a wine list will come to be positive experience- no longer daunting ad left for others to do (Todd & Cain, 2011). Francistown Golf club is well branded and recognized company that host unforgettable and impressive event in Francistown city and surrounding. FUN DAY EVENTS

FUN DAY EVENTS

Having fun may be defined as the method of engaging in activities full of pleasure, and that are appealingly attractive to an individual or crowd of individuals explained by (Matz, Carol, 2003). Matz, Carol, (2003) explains further by saying when an individual is having great time, they normally don’t consider or think about everything that they are undertaking but the activity that is causing them to have the fun that they are having. The review emphases on the delegation from management and accountability and responsibility among members of staff.

DUTIES DELEGATIONS

Is the task of accountability or ability to another individual (usually from a supervisor to a subordinate) to carry out specific activities. It is one of the essential ideas of managing leadership (Angst, Lukas and Karol J. Borowiecki, 2013). During planning of the event our top leaders they failed to delegate some duties to their subordinates like the issue of taking food quotations from establishment it was supposed to be done through people who are responsible for food productions not them. Delegation is a very helpful aid for succession planning, personal development - and seeking and encouraging promotion.

ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

By being responsible, that means that you are charged with certifying that work activities continue securely and that the safety and health of either yourself, your co-workers or your underlings is not endangered whereas accountability means that you will be judged on how well or efficiently you carried out the duties you were responsible for (Hooper, 2013). Well I would say accountability and responsibility was lacking in the kitchen because we found some missing food commodities during preparation and also staff members were supposed to be provided with staff meal but then at the end of the events we were suprise hearing that there is no staff meal no one manage to prepare meals.
